Bill Simmons, espn.com’s popular general sports blogger … well, as long as “general” refers to Boston teams … wrote a piece last week maintaining the Lakers will have no trouble with the Celtics.
This from a man who identifies himself as a Celtics fan his whole life.
Personally, I think he’s trying to do the “reverse karma” thing here … and he is being aided by putative experts who are climbing aboard the Lakers bandwagon. To the point that we have this ridiculous notion out there that the Lakers are prohibitive favorites in the Finals.
Anyway, here is a link to Simmons’ woe-is-Celtics piece. Which I doubt even he believes.
Note: His piece also was written before the Celtics went into Detroit and won Game 6 to wrap up that series. That was an impressive victory even Simmons might have had trouble dismissing.
