Back in August, while driving over the streets of San Francisco, we were astonished to see a completely naked adult male walking along on the sidewalk.
Here is an account of that incident.
Now, a month later, a story comes along that explains to us this astonishing fact:
Being nude in public is not against the law in San Francisco, as this New York Times story details.
What a concept. Only in San Francisco. Has to be.
And now, the Naked Guys are upset about a proposed law that would ban nudity inside restaurants. Which seems reasonable enough, since going inside a restaurant generally means a chunk of time spent with the people around you, which could include a naked guy, in Frisco.
What is interesting and curious is that the “wear something” people seem to be focusing on the potential sanitary issues. They believe Naked Guys (and they nearly always are guys) at least should put something down to sit on. Say, a piece of paper.
So, yes, San Francisco basically is a freak show. Always has been, probably always will be.
And spotting a Naked Guy just wandering down the street? Apparently it happens all the time. Standard Operating Procedure.
Some tourists apparently go looking for them. Though we could vouch for the idea that you don’t even have to look; they will come to you.
It amuses me to think how long a Naked Guy would last walking around the UAE or Abu Dhabi. Approximately until the first cop came by, at which time he would be arrested, taken to jail and allowed out maybe 30 days later, then escorted to the airport. They’re into clothes here. Just how they roll.
