Breaking Down the Tight Concacaf Race

August 13th, 2009 · 2 Comments · Paris, soccer

I just spent quite a bit of time breaking down the suddenly tight World Cup qualifying race in Concacaf, over on my Countdown to South Africa blog.

Feel free to go have a look. Much of it depends on who plays whom and where, and one goal could swing this.

As the blog entry notes, Mexico’s 2-1 victory over the U.S., paired with Honduras’ 4-0 blowout of Costa Rica leaves four teams within four points at the top of the Concacaf standings, with four matches left for each.

Could be a wild couple of months ahead.

U.S. REALLY needs to take care of business from now on to ensure a top 3 place.

Question about the Countdown to South Africa site. I cannot figure out how to leave a comment and see that only one person has figured out how to do it. On this blog it is simple, but when I click on Post a Comment on the Countdown blog it is a dead link. What am I missing?

This is a total threadjack, but the stories about Premier League on ESPN2 are true. Chelsea-Hull will be on ESPN2 at 7:45 a.m EDT.
