Roy Rivenburg does a very amusing ongoing parody of the Los Angeles Times Web site, and he has just added another sports story.

This one is about Navy SEALS taking out the Pirates … as in the Pittsburgh Pirates … with sniper fire. Like the Somali pirates, see?

Man, the Pirate franchise is a rough gig.

I’ve made note of Rivenburg’s site before, notthelatimes.com. If you haven’t been there, poke around. It’s quite clever, and Rivenburg’s former-insider status at LAT makes for an even saucier sendup. Some of it is hardly less believable than actual events.

It’s fun to look at, especially, if you’re having a bad day — which is nearly every day, in the newspaper industry.
