As if I’m not already writing enough stuff I don’t quite get paid for … I have just now launched what will be a daily countdown to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

It is plain and spare, right now, but I wanted to get started before I lost a chance to write at least 325 entries.

Presumably, we will add some bells and whistles as we go. What was it Mao said? The countdown of 325 days is a single entry? Something like that.

One item a day doesn’t sound like much, but trust me, it is. I’ve got the whole sports world to write about, here, and sometimes it takes every bit of discipline I can muster to get one item a day up at this address, which has been my average for 16 months now.
