Thanks for the interesting analysis on the Countdown blog. Certainly the draw for the U.S. gives them a good chance to advance from group play. It also increases the pressure on the team as they will not be underdogs. I think it is good the U.S. plays England first, rather than last in group play as the top teams sometimes start slowly in tournament play. Also, if the U.S. needs a result in its final group match, they have better odds of getting one vs. Algeria than against England.
