We at The National have done a seven-part series on the clubs that will play in the Fifa Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi from December 8-18. The idea is to make the seven clubs more familiar to anyone who might go see the matches.
An interesting group. From Inter Milan, one of the most famous clubs in the world, to little Hekari United of Papua New Guinea, perhaps the most exotic club ever to appear in the Club World Cup.
Here are links to the seven stories:
Here is Hekari United.
Here is Al Wahda, the host team, from the UAE Pro League.
Here is Pachuca of Mexico.
Here is TP Mazembe from the Congo, Africa’s champion.
Here is Seongnam of South Korea, the Asian champ.
Here is Internacional of Brazil, the South American champion.
And here is Inter Milan, winner of the Uefa Champions League earlier this year, victors over Barcelona in the semi-finals and Bayern Munich in the final.
If you have any interest in the event, give them a look. I wrote three of them.
