I do not know DJ Gallo. I don’t owe him money. There is no ulterior motive in linking to him. He’s not funny all the time. Sometimes he isn’t at all.

But he has done an excellent job of stripping down the Manny Ramirez suspension and finding the ultimate insult/comedic value at the bottom of it.

That Manny got busted for using a female fertility drug. Yes, that’s where the comedy vein is located, and I wish I had thought of that … rather than spend time fulminating about the topic. (Which may come out in another day or two.).

Gallo is ESPN.com’s satire guy, and this stuff is good — and would really tear up pro athletes and their uber-macho self-images. I mean, if someone read it to Manny, he would be ticked.

Gallo came up with this fictional exchange between Manny Ramirez and the Dodgers in the clubhouse — which we know to be fictional because Manny has yet to show his face in the Dodgers clubhouse since the bust came down, a week ago.

And then there is this mocking second bit, on Gallo’s own Web site — sportspickle.com — in which he suggests that Manny is taking 50 games off because, of course, he intends to give birth. (Why else would he be taking female fertility drugs?)

And, man, can Gallo actually use Photoshop?  (Albeit clumsily.) Got me beat there.
