Yankees, Red Sox: Now THIS Is a Rivalry

April 13th, 2008 · 2 Comments · Baseball

We like to think the Dodgers and Giants compare, but they don’t. Not over the past 20 years.

This Bombers-BoSox stuff is so crazy, fans are trying to put hexes on each other.

If you didn’t see this story about the construction worker leaving behind a Red Sox jersey in the foundation of the new Yankee Stadium, read it now.

I mean, they can’t find Jimmy Hoffa’s body, but they cared enough about this Boston fan’s impudence … that they smoked him out and jack-hammered up two feet of concrete.

That’s a serious rivalry. And a great story.

We were talking about @ work, and a co-worker (a Sox fanatic, figures) said, “The only thing that would have made it better is that it was Babe Ruth’s (Boston) uniform buried in there.”

    It’s not a rivalry, it’s a war.

There is no escape from the long arm of New York Yankee justice.
